Custom WordPress development

Plugins built from scratch, plugins bent to fit, and plugins made to work together. Twenty years of WordPress, mostly for clients who came back for the next job.

What I build

What I build

  • Custom plugins

Built from scratch to do one job well: the feature your site needs that no off-the-shelf plugin quite covers. I've sold one plugin to several hundred customers and kept others running for clients for years.

  • Plugin integrations

Making plugins work together when they don't out of the box: a store and a payment gateway, a form and an affiliate system, a membership plugin and your email service. Often that means working with their APIs directly.

  • Custom Elementor widgets

Purpose-built Elementor blocks, so you or your editors can drop the right piece into any page without copying code or calling a developer each time.

  • Changing plugins you already use

Adding a feature, fixing a problem, or bending a plugin to fit how your business works, in a way that survives the next update wherever possible.

APIs

APIs and integrations

Most WordPress work ends up talking to something else: taking payments, adding people to email lists, storing files, syncing data between systems. I've done a lot of it, calling other services' APIs and building WordPress endpoints for others to call. In a plugin I sold, I added a custom Zapier endpoint so customers could connect services I hadn't built in.

  • Stripe
  • PayPal IPN
  • Authorize.net
  • AWeber
  • GetResponse
  • Mailchimp
  • Zapier
  • Amazon S3
  • Amazon SES
  • WooCommerce REST API
  • WordPress REST API
  • Custom endpoints
How it works

How we'd work together

  1. Step 1

    Tell me what you need

Send a short message. I'll reply with questions, or tell you plainly if it isn't a good fit.

  2. Step 2

    A written plan

What gets built, what doesn't, and what it costs, written down before any work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Built in small steps

You see working pieces along the way, not one big reveal at the end.

  4. Step 4

    Handed over

You get the code and the notes. If something needs changing later, you talk to me again, not an agency.

Questions

Questions people ask

Can you change a plugin someone else wrote?
Yes. I usually add to it rather than edit it, so updates don't wipe the changes out. If the plugin is the problem, I'll say so.
Which plugins have you worked with?
WooCommerce and its subscriptions and memberships add-ons, s2Member, MemberMouse, LearnDash, Gravity Forms, AffiliateWP, Easy Digital Downloads, Elementor and Stripe, among others.
Can you work on a site that's already live?
Yes. I work on a copy first and move changes across once you've seen them working.
Do I own what you build?
Yes. You get the code and the notes for what I build for you.
How do we start?
Send a message with what you're trying to do. A few sentences is plenty.
